Using Visual Ethnography to Understand the Transit Experience

At this stop, many students typically wait for the best to head to Belmont High School. It's usually very crowded, standing room only during the school year.

Sometimes, I get off the 14 and hop on the Red Line if I'm in a hurry to get to work.

The 14 passes by the venerable Tommy Burger, an original L.A. eating establishment. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of these burgers, but it's fun to be on the bus and pass it by every morning seeing people eat burgers for breakfast.

I love this stop because virtually everybody gets off at this stop to go to the Belmont School, which means the few remaining of us can finally sit down!

Who said the views from the bus aren't awesome!?

Here's where I stop and then walk the final block to work.

This is the bus I take after taking the Red Line from 7th/Metro to Normandie Wilshire.

The majority of bus passengers on this line are Latinos, although if you travel south of the 10, a lot of African Americans come on board.
